Who we are

Gaffney Fine Press (Gaffney) sells hand-bound leather and cloth editions of public-domain classics, numbered Press runs, and Studio bookbinding commissions. Business contact: orders@gaffneypress.com. Location: Washington, Missouri, USA. Website: www.gaffneypress.com/.

Goods and services

• The Press: numbered limited runs of a special-edition binding for one exclusive title at a time.
• The Library: made-to-order standing titles in Cloth, Leather, or Vegan Leather.
• The Studio: commission work (Custom Classic, Your Manuscript, or Bespoke Design) when commissions are open.

Product pages describe materials, pricing, lead times, and guarantees. Descriptions on this site are the offer; if something is unavailable, we will contact you or cancel and refund.

Orders and payment

Checkout is processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Payment is collected when you complete checkout. An order confirmation email is sent when configured. Title to goods passes when we deliver the book to the carrier; risk of loss in transit is addressed under our shipping and returns policy.

Made-to-order nature

Most volumes are produced after you order. Lead times are estimates, not guarantees of a calendar ship date. Natural variation in leather, foil, and hand work is part of the craft and is not a defect.

Promotions

If we offer a promotion, discount code, waitlist perk, or limited offer, the terms of that promotion (eligibility, duration, exclusions, and stacking rules) will be stated with the offer or in the email announcing it. Promotions have no cash value and may be modified or ended at any time unless we have already accepted an order under those terms.

Referral program

When the referral program is enabled, past customers who have placed a paid order may share a personal link from /referrals. For each qualified referral, the referrer earns a fixed credit (currently $20 USD) toward a future purchase. The referred buyer does not receive a referral discount.

• A referral qualifies only when the friend's order is paid through Stripe and the product subtotal is at least $45 (before tax and shipping).
• Credits combine into one single-use Stripe checkout code for the full available balance (for example two $20 credits become one $40 code). Stripe Checkout accepts one discount per order.
• Codes are emailed to the referrer, bound to their Stripe customer, limited to one redemption, and expire. We do not regenerate an unused code for the same balance; a resend returns the same code. If more credit is earned while a code is unused, we void that code and issue one combined code.
• Self-referrals (same email or alias, same Stripe customer, matching ship-to, or matching card fingerprint), disposable emails, duplicate friend identities, and other abuse are void. We claw back unused credit if a qualifying order is cancelled, refunded, or disputed (chargeback). If credit was already redeemed, we flag the case for review and may refuse further rewards. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.
• We may modify, pause, or end the program at any time. Orders already accepted under a valid code remain honored.

Intellectual property and content

Library and Press classics we list are public-domain texts unless a page states otherwise. Site design, photography, branding, and our original translations or editorial work remain our property. Studio manuscript commissions require you to confirm you have the rights to the text you submit.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot waive under applicable consumer law.
